Everyone!
My break from racing is officially over.
I am back at it this weekend!
I will be running the Ventura Half Marathon on Sunday.
After taking over a month and a half off of racing…
I am ready to get back to it.
Yes, you read that right.
I am excited to RACE!
I think this time off really did wonders for my spirit.
I feel refreshed both mentally and physically.
Annnnnnddddd I have a new helper that will be joining me on the run.
I am so stoked to try it out!
Have you seen these little dudes before?
They are called Pacebands!
Pacebands help runners of all levels stay on pace during their race with beautifully designed multicolored bands.
The bands include a target finish time for each distance (marathon, half marathon, etc.) and individual splits for each distance marker so athletes know what their cumulative time should be when they reach a certain number of miles or kilometers.
I have a pink Paceband for my current goal finish time of 2:15.
I know it is going to help me stay on target to finish at my goal time.
I have a really good feeling about the race, people.
I am getting faster and am a lot more confident in myself.
I have been doing lots of hill work and speed work.
My training has been relatively consistent.
It’s going to be awesome!
When is your next race?
Have you starting running hills and doing speed work too?
Good luck, have a great race!!

Good luck!!! I’ve thought about pace bands before but never followed through. My next race is the HOB 10k. I have a couple more weeks to prepare.

Pace bands are the best! I wore one for the last marathon I did and I found the best motivation when you’re out there. Really keeps you focused. Good luck!
