Never Give UP!

I want to shout it from the roof tops!

Running seriously rocks for me right now.

Everything is coming together.

I am running faster.

My legs feel amazing.

Running is easier.

Long runs don’t seem as long…

Not to mention, I just PRed yesterday on my long run…

unnamed

Who does that?

THIS girl! That’s who!

Thinking back on how far I have come this year, it is crazy to think that it has taken me almost 11 months to get here.

I have stumbled many, many, many times.

I have been lazy.

I have gotten injured.

I have struggled with tendinitis.

I have been a flake.

But, the one thing I haven’t been is a quitter.

I haven’t given up.

I have kept on.

I have fought the fight.

I am FINALLY reaping the benefits of my hard work…

And I can’t be more thankful for where I am now.

I might not be where I was a few years ago, but I am much closer than I was 11 months ago.

You, my lovely reader, might be somewhere on that spectrum…

Maybe you are just starting out, and running is hard.

Maybe you have been running for a while, but things don’t seem to be clicking.

Maybe you are struggling to stay motivated.

Maybe you are doubting yourself.

I promise that YOU WILL GET THERE.

It is not going to be easy and it will probably hurt…

But it will be worth it in the end.

I’m in a slump! I currently hate everything about running and feel creaky and slow, and I am dreading my 14 mile run this Sunday as I prep for my first marathon. Its nice to hear that I’m not the only one who goes through slumps and that I’ll make it out to the other side!

Absolutely. Slumps suck. It is hard to despise something that you once were so passionate about. Don’t force yourself to do it… buy a new outfit, run a new path… just don’t give up. Give yourself a few weeks to rejuvenate. 🙂

Love this! I can always use the reminder that perseverance pays off, as it is for you! I’m currently on that injury list… 2 weeks of no running, but I’m not out, just a temporary set-back and fixing what needs fixed now before it gets worse. I’ll be better off for it in the long run. Keep on keepin’ on!
