Hello Goodbye.

Did ya miss me?

I bet you did.

Pardon my absence, but last week was rough.

A close family member passed away unexpectedly on Monday, so I was out of town for the week.

Seriously.

But, I am back now!

I ran the Rock n’ Roll Los Angeles Half Marathon last Sunday…

(stay tuned for the Race Review and Recap on Thursday)

and I have the Two Cities Half Marathon, this Sunday.

WHEW!

I have never done back to back races before, so this should be interesting.

Yes, very interesting.

Thankfully, I didn’t push it too hard at Rock n’ Roll LA, so I should be ready to kick a$$ on Sunday.

My parents will be there too, which will be a nice change of pace (pun intended)!

The race also has great swag and finish line food- I am excited about that as well.

This will be my 9th and final race of the year.

Dang, that’s a lot of races.

I have come a lonnnnnnnng way since the SLO Half in April and have made some great strides to get back to where I was two years ago.

I have, as of today, dropped over 8 minutes from my half marathon time.

8 minutes?!?!

I know. Pretty awesome, right?

Right.

I have a lot to look forward to next year/season.

The calendar is packed with tons of great races, I’ve been given the opportunity to be a pacer for the first time, and I might even try to fit a marathon in there somewhere.

Bring it 2016.

Onward and upward, my friends.

Very sorry to hear about your loss, hope you are okay. Sounds like you’re mad busy with races at the moment, which I love doing myself but be careful with recovery and mind yourself! Great incentive is good swag and grub at the finish line. Got me through many a race! Best of luck and look forward to reading your race recap 🙂
