Disclaimer: I received a pair of OnRunning Cloudsurfer Running Shoes to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (Ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!
About a month or so ago, a friend and I stopped by Running Warehouse to return some arm warmers that I bought for Surf City.
While we were there, my friend was ogling some super cool looking shoes on the shoe wall.
Coincidentally, she was looking at these bad boys.
OnRunning Cloudsurfer running shoes!
When I received the opportunity to review them I was absolutely ecstatic.
I quickly emailed my friend and went “Neener, neener, neener! Look at what I get to try!”
She was jealous to say the least.
But, I digress.
After trying them on, the first thing I noticed was how light they were.
It definitely was a pleasant surprise!
And then, I took them for a run…
And I love how cushiony (yes, that’s a word) they felt as my feet hit the ground.
I felt like I was flying.
I kept jumping up and down to feel the spring.
They definitely have a pep in their step.
Errrrr…. or they give me a pep in my step.
When you foot hits the ground the CloudTechnology absorbs the impact, which ultimately allows you to feel the road.
It also pushes off on the road, which is where the springing feeling comes from.
I also tried them on my treadmill!
I wanted to see how they performed against the bounce/cushion of my treadmill.
I am happy to report that they felt just as awesome on the treadmill as they did on the road.
One thing to note:
When I first put the shoes on, I noticed that the tongue was very stiff.
This stressed me out, because the last thing I need is a blister.
After consulting with my fellow BibRave Pros, someone suggested wearing higher socks until the tongue softened up.
This was a GREAT idea, because it did after the first few runs.
These are great neutral shoes to wear for every day runs, and I am looking forward to racing in them!
Because they really do help me run faster.
Overall, I am really happy with the shoes and would recommend them to anyone looking for a neutral trainer with some impact absorption and cushion!
Have you been fortunate enough to try these cool shoes?
Have any questions? Leave them below!
I’m looking for new shoes and will definitely try these on when I go shopping! Also, thanks for introducing me to BibRave! I just applied, so hopefully I’ll join you as an ambassador

All shoes feel great for the first 50-100 miles but what are these like after that? What will they be like when you’ve done at least 250 miles? Will you do a re-review of them then please.

I would be happy to! Thanks for reading my review!

I’ve seen those and thought, woah, those are kinda weird, wonder what they feel like?!! Interesting, that you seem to really like them…curious as to what is the longest run that you’ve tried them on so far and how did they hold up…or how did you hold up?

LOL. I did an 8 mile long run in them and they felt good. It was really weird to actually feel the ground though. It will take some getting used to, but is really awesome at the same time!

Will have to test them out. I’m a Saucony/Neutral girl but I am game for a little more cushiony and trying something new. Thanks for the review!

Do you think they’d withstand the long runs? Or do you think they’re better for shorter runs?

A few Pros have put about 50 miles on them and said they were great for long runs. So, YES! I think they would be great for long runs, and even as racing shoes.
