…And Take Names.

Hello and Happy day to you!

Every few months I feel like I write one of these posts…

The post where I realize I am slacking (no offense Fallon!), decide to pick myself up by the bootstraps and get my sh*t together.

Also known as this post, this post, this post and this post.

The post where I decide to start kicking a$$ and taking names.

This post is a little different though.

Foodie Friday: The Lazy Runner Edition

Hello and happy day to you!

Today’s edition of “Foodie Friday” is going to be a little bit different.

Don’t freak out.

Instead of sharing a recipe that I like, I have a few quick and easy meal suggestions for you.

This post was inspired by a conversation I had with one of my best friends a few weeks ago.

She was complaining commenting on how she never has time to cook dinner because she is so busy working,

taking care of her family,

cleaning the house,

and of course,

working out.

And I, being the absolute laziest meal-prepper on the planet…

gave her a few suggestions that I use to make my meal prep Monday as short and sweet as possible.

I thought it would be a great idea to share those tips with you…

So here we goooooo!

Looking for some motivation?

Read the stories below and I bet one of them will light a fire under your caboose.

I know it has for me!

So let’s get to it…

I think I can, I think I can…

Hello and Happy day to you!

As many of you know, I just (praise the Lord!) recovered from a minor hamstring injury that forced me to pull out of Rock n’ Roll San Diego.

Boo!

But! I am back running and haven’t had any problems with my hamstring since.

WOO WHOO!

I do, however, feel as though I have lost some fitness.

Or maybe it is in my head?

Who knows.

I am feeling a little off this week. Continue reading

Things That (As A Runner) I Can’t Stand!

Hello and Happy day to you!

bathroom

As a runner, there are certain things that really piss me off!

I am sure most people don’t understand, but maybe you (being a fellow runner) will agree with me…

1. When some moron sprints ahead and then stops in front of me in the middle of a race.

Pull your head out of your ass, man! I mean come on! It’s called peripheral vision, use it and check out your surroundings before you come to a complete freakin’ stop. I understand that you are tired, but really? Continue reading

2015 Holiday Gift Guide for Runners

Most non-runners have a difficult time shopping for runners during the holidays.

Truth.

What in the heck could these crazy people (their words not mine) who spend hours upon hours running FOR FUN actually want?

Well, allow me to help you!

Save your friends and family the headache and send them a link to this blog post.

I know what runners want for Christmas, and it definitely isn’t a fruitcake.

Gross.

No one wants fruitcake by the way.

No one.

Things I Can’t Run Without.

Hi! Happy day ya’ll!

Today I have decided to do a post about the things that I can’t run without.

These are my must haves for heading out to sweat it up for a few miles… or 14 depending on the day.

Since I am neck deep in Half Marathon season, it is even more important to have the best gear!

1. Ultra Aspire Hydration Backpack: I realize that this probably comes as no surprise considering I have done a few posts about how much I love this thing.

When an LSD, isn’t an LSD.

I’m an idiot.

i_m_with_stupidBefore you start telling me that I need to be nicer to myself… let me tell you a story.

It is a story of an idiot (myself, obviously) who learned a few lessons during their long run yesterday… that I would like to share with you.

So…

I woke up on Sunday morning feeling refreshed and ready for my 10 mile long run. YEAH!

I had my usual oatmeal breakfast

pumpkin

and Cristophe made me an extra tasty salted caramel mocha!

I accept the challenge.

bg_logomain2

Dear California Half Marathon Series… I accept your 2013 4 race challenge.

Why? Because I am hardcore like that. Like gang sign hardcore.

Okay, well… more like a ProCompression sock wearing, NUUN hydration lovin’, I had a  tank top strap tan in February because I am completely crazy for running, kind of hardcore. Continue reading

Don’t be a burnout!

Burnout

A friend of mine just finished her very first marathon (congrats Heather!); she has been training for a long time. Yesterday, I asked her if she was planning on running tomorrow (which is now today). Her response was, “No, probably Friday”.

At the time, I was blown away! I thought to myself, “how could she take 4 days off?”

Her reason was simple, she didn’t want to get burned out. She wanted to be hungry to run again and she wasn’t mentally there yet.

After giving it some thought, I realized how right she really was. Continue reading
