…And Take Names.

Hello and Happy day to you!

Every few months I feel like I write one of these posts…

The post where I realize I am slacking (no offense Fallon!), decide to pick myself up by the bootstraps and get my sh*t together.

Also known as this post, this post, this post and this post.

The post where I decide to start kicking a$$ and taking names.

This post is a little different though.

Foodie Friday: The Lazy Runner Edition

Hello and happy day to you!

Today’s edition of “Foodie Friday” is going to be a little bit different.

Don’t freak out.

Instead of sharing a recipe that I like, I have a few quick and easy meal suggestions for you.

This post was inspired by a conversation I had with one of my best friends a few weeks ago.

She was complaining commenting on how she never has time to cook dinner because she is so busy working,

taking care of her family,

cleaning the house,

and of course,

working out.

And I, being the absolute laziest meal-prepper on the planet…

gave her a few suggestions that I use to make my meal prep Monday as short and sweet as possible.

I thought it would be a great idea to share those tips with you…

So here we goooooo!

Why Do YOU Run?

Hello and Happy day to you!

Last week I challenged you to share with me the reasons why you do this crazy thing called running.

The response that I received was overwhelmingly awesome!

I know it has for me!

So let’s get to it…

I think I can, I think I can…

Hello and Happy day to you!

As many of you know, I just (praise the Lord!) recovered from a minor hamstring injury that forced me to pull out of Rock n’ Roll San Diego.

But! I am back running and haven’t had any problems with my hamstring since.

I do, however, feel as though I have lost some fitness.

Or maybe it is in my head?

Who knows.

I am feeling a little off this week. Continue reading

I definitely have my own set of running rituals and I do them religiously.

Who knows, you might as well!

Things That (As A Runner) I Can’t Stand!

Hello and Happy day to you!

As a runner, there are certain things that really piss me off!

I am sure most people don’t understand, but maybe you (being a fellow runner) will agree with me…

1. When some moron sprints ahead and then stops in front of me in the middle of a race.

Pull your head out of your ass, man! I mean come on! It’s called peripheral vision, use it and check out your surroundings before you come to a complete freakin’ stop. I understand that you are tired, but really? Continue reading

Your SMART Running Goals!

So, I have majorly been slacking on my blog posts this week.

For that, I am terribly sorry.

Things have been a little nutzo at work!

Annnnnnd I’m getting ready for yet another vacation, so needless to say I am very behind.

Yes, I know, I take a LOT of vacations.

Working in the hospitality industry will do that to you.

A friend and I are driving down to San Diego for the weekend!

We are going to visit a few friends while we are there.

I’m pretty stoked!

Anyway, enough about me.

Last week, I talked about the importance of making SMART running goals.

I asked you to write down your SMART goals and email them to me.

And you didddddddddddd!

I was beyond stoked to get the number of responses that I did…

THANK YOU to those of you who took the time to share their goals.

Let’s go over them! Continue reading

How to Set SMART Running Goals

Happy day to you.

Being a runner, regardless of where you are in your “career”, is totally awesome.

It might not feel awesome all the time,

(example: the 6 mile suck-fest that I suffered through this weekend)…

It comes with struggles, setbacks, and a whole lot of picking yourself up and trying again.

A great way to stay on track through those struggles and setbacks is to set ACHIEVABLE goals.

If you have been following me for a while, you have probably figured out that I am very goal oriented (aka: Type A personality).

(See this post, this post, this post, and this post to catch up)

In the first post, I talked about how important it is to create goals.

Some people, I realize now, have not been gifted with the innate ability and need to set goals.

This is okay! Continue reading

Running Goals for the Rest of 2015!

Hey-lo there! How are ya?

I am surviving this Thursday… but it feels like it should be Friday for some reason.

Weird, I know.

Anyway, now that my 2 month venture into racing every other weekend has commenced…

(I am exhausted, BTW)

I am trying to refocus my efforts on the rest of the year.

Which means that it is time to set some new goals!
