…And Take Names.

Hello and Happy day to you!

Every few months I feel like I write one of these posts…

The post where I realize I am slacking (no offense Fallon!), decide to pick myself up by the bootstraps and get my sh*t together.

Also known as this post, this post, this post and this post.

The post where I decide to start kicking a$$ and taking names.

This post is a little different though.

Foodie Friday: The Lazy Runner Edition

Hello and happy day to you!

Today’s edition of “Foodie Friday” is going to be a little bit different.

Don’t freak out.

Instead of sharing a recipe that I like, I have a few quick and easy meal suggestions for you.

This post was inspired by a conversation I had with one of my best friends a few weeks ago.

She was complaining commenting on how she never has time to cook dinner because she is so busy working,

taking care of her family,

cleaning the house,

and of course,

working out.

And I, being the absolute laziest meal-prepper on the planet…

gave her a few suggestions that I use to make my meal prep Monday as short and sweet as possible.

I thought it would be a great idea to share those tips with you…

So here we goooooo!

The response that I received was overwhelmingly awesome!

It was so cool to read everyone’s reasons, because they are all so different.

Looking for some motivation?

Read the stories below and I bet one of them will light a fire under your caboose.

I know it has for me!

So let’s get to it…

Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon Race Review & Recap

Hello and Happy day to you!

Because I haven’t written a race review & recap in almost 2 months (Thanks again RnR San Diego), I am beyond excited to FINALLY have a race to talk about.

Goodness gracious, it’s been too long.

And seriously- how big of a mouthful is this blog post!?!?

Try saying that 10 times fast…

You can’t do it can you!?!?!

All jokes aside, this is race has been on my bucket list since I started running back in 2008.

Napa to Sonoma is Destination Races flagship event in their Wine Country Half Marathon Series.

ntos

Only 3,500 runners are allowed to run in this coveted race and it sells out in less than 30 minutes each year.

Seriously.

The question you are probably thinking to yourself…

Is it worth the hype? Continue reading

I think I can, I think I can…

Hello and Happy day to you!

As many of you know, I just (praise the Lord!) recovered from a minor hamstring injury that forced me to pull out of Rock n’ Roll San Diego.

Boo!

But! I am back running and haven’t had any problems with my hamstring since.

WOO WHOO!

I do, however, feel as though I have lost some fitness.

Or maybe it is in my head?

Who knows.

I am feeling a little off this week. Continue reading

It’s Fine. I Ran Today.

Hello and Happy day to you!

I very seriously need this shirt.

Like very, very seriously.

It totally encapsulates how I have been feeling the last few days.

As many of you know, I tweaked my hamstring during the 5K at Rock n Roll San Diego, a week and a half ago.

So, I spent all of last week foam rolling, stretching, and trying to rest my hamstring.

Although my coach gave me permission to run on Friday, I was UBER paranoid about returning before my leg was fully healed.

Hello and happy day to you!

As I prepare for the Rock n’ Roll San Diego Half Marathon and 5k this weekend…

I have realized HOW MANY running rituals I have.

I have talked about how weird runners are in the past, and I am no different.

I am a total weirdo.

I definitely have my own set of running rituals and I do them religiously.

Who knows, you might as well!

Let’s dive in to this topic, shall we?

Let’s!

First up issssss……..

Things That (As A Runner) I Can’t Stand!

Hello and Happy day to you!

bathroom

As a runner, there are certain things that really piss me off!

I am sure most people don’t understand, but maybe you (being a fellow runner) will agree with me…

1. When some moron sprints ahead and then stops in front of me in the middle of a race.

Pull your head out of your ass, man! I mean come on! It’s called peripheral vision, use it and check out your surroundings before you come to a complete freakin’ stop. I understand that you are tired, but really? Continue reading

Hello and happy day to you!

On Saturday, May 7, 2016 I was the 2:30 pacer for the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon.

This was my first assignment for Beast Pacing and what a day it was.

But, I am skipping ahead a little.

Let’s start at the beginning.

Modesto Half Marathon Race Review & Recap

http://i0.wp.com/changeofpace.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/modesto-marathon-2015-race-logo.jpg?fit=640%2C512

I can’t believe that the Modesto Half Marathon was over 2 weeks ago.

As I mentioned yesterday, my vacation to Arizona and San Francisco royally threw me out of wack, so I apologize for the late post.

If you read my pacing blog post, you already know that I had a blast pacing this race.

It was an absolutely amazing experience!

But, I digress… We already talked about that.

What about the race itself, man?!?!

Surf City Half Marathon Race Review & Recap

Hello everyone!

Happy day to you.

Yesterday, I ran the Surf City Half Marathon in Huntington Beach, CA.

As many of you know, this race has been on my bucket list for a while.

I registered for the race back in 2014, but had to DNS because of my stupid injury.

So, I was determined to vindicate myself.

The weather predicted unusually HOT temperatures on race day.

With a 7:45 am race start time, I was nervous about the heat.

If you have read my Shoreline Half Marathon race review, you already know how much I HATE running in the heat.

Hate, with a capital H.

Yes, I know, this is something I need to get over.

I will… some day.

Whatever.

Fortunately, my race outfit was perfect for the temperatures…

and I fit in nicely with the “beach vibe”, don’t you think?

I think so.

I drove down on Saturday morning and was able to check into my hotel early.

#jobperks

After some shopping, I headed over to the Expo to pick up my packet.

The expo was HUGE!

There were lots of big names there…

San Francisco Hot Chocolate 15K Race Review & Recap

choco

On Sunday, January 10, 2016 I ran for chocolate.

Although I usually run for bloody Marys, or pancakes… on this special day- I made an exception.

This race was off the charts awesome!

It was held in San Francisco, CA.

Home of my younger sister and of course the Hot Chocolate 15k / 5k race.

We went to the expo the day before to pick up our packets.

It was very well organized, despite the fact that there were 2 billion people there. Continue reading

A Look at my 2016 Running Calendar

On Tuesday, I did a review of my 2015 Running Season.

I thought it only fair to give some shout outs to the races I will be running in 2016.

unnamed1

YEAH! Let’s do this!!

My first race of the season is on January 10th. It’s the Hot Chocolate 15K in San Francisco, CA.

As I mentioned on Tuesday, I was chosen to be a BibRave Ambassador… and because of that, I was given the opportunity to run this race.

This is the first 15K and Hot Chocolate race that I have done, and I actually convinced my sister to run the 5K. It’s a family affair! The Hot Chocolate races are said to have the best race SWAG and post run snacks on the planet. As you can see from the picture above… I am not joking.

Want to run the Hot Chocolate 15K with me? Use the code BIBRAVESF to register. Continue reading
